Since then, he has come a long way, with two wins and one second-place finish in his last three races. His most recent win at the Grade III Lexington Stakes was worth 20 points, putting him over the threshold to qualify for the Kentucky Derby.
Epicenter is trained by Steve Asmussen, who has had a lot of success in the Derby in recent years. His jockey is Hall of Famer Joel Rosario, an excellent sign for the colt’s chances at Churchill Downs.

Corniche
Corniche would undoubtedly be the 2022 Kentucky Derby favorite if it weren’t for the issues and controversies surrounding trainer Bob Baffert. The colt is undefeated in all three of his career races, including the Grade I Breeder’s Cup Juvenile and Grade I American Pharaoh Stakes.
According to the Daily Racing Form February 4 report, Corniche is training at WinStar Farm. However, he isn’t ready to race yet and is still in the process of getting over some minor health issues.
Marette Farrell, Speedway Stables racing manager, said they are not rushing or forcing Corniche to the Derby, but they’re not ruling out the major event.
Pappacap
Pappacap appeared in five consecutive graded stakes since his winning debut at Gulfstream last May. In January, he was third by a head in the Grade III Lecomte at Fair Grounds Race Course. With a career record of 2-2-1 from six starts, he still has a chance to be a stakes winner.
