The Portland Trail Blazers had all sorts of momentum after a successful 3-1 road trip in which they covered the spread in all four games, but have hit a little bump in the road since then. The Blazers look to make it two wins in a row after dropping four straight when they visit the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night. Portland has already played more road games (six) than anyone else in the Western Conference and will only play one home game between now and November 27th. They survived a 124-113 overtime win over the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday thanks to winning the extra five minutes 17-6. The Kings are trending in the opposite direction after starting the season 0-5. The young Kings have won three of their past four including a 121-109 win at Atlanta on Friday to finish 2-1 on a three-game road trip. Sacramento went 18-of-31 from 3-point range against the Hawks and averaged 118 points during the trip. The 0-5 start included a 122-112 home loss to the Trail Blazers. The Kings had six players score 13 or more points against Atlanta and scored at least 28 points in each quarter. Including the Oct. 25 meeting against Portland, Sacramento has dropped six of the past seven meetings while covering the spread just once in that span.

Star guard Damian Lillard poured in a career-best 60 points in a 119-115 home loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Friday and followed that up with 30 points, seven rebounds and six assists against Atlanta. Lillard is second in the league in scoring (33.0) and helped the Blazers beat the Kings last month with 35 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals. Former Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside recorded 22 points on 9-of-10 shooting to go along with nine rebounds in the last meeting with Sacramento and blocked three shots on Sunday. Swingman Rodney Hood (back) missed Portland’s last game and is questionable for Tuesday. The Blazers host the Toronto Raptors Wednesday before a long road trip.

Shooting guard – and second-leading scorer – Buddy Hield, scored 22 against Atlanta for his third straight 20-point outing and sixth of the season to raise his average to 18.1 per contest. Bogdan Bogdanovic (5-of-6) and Trevor Ariza (4-of-6) provided a big boost off the bench and combined for half the 3-point makes against the Hawks. Bogdanovic has made 11-of-17 over the past two games while averaging 21 points during the stretch. Leading scorer De’Aaron Fox (18.2) is averaging 19.8 points and eight assists over the past six games, and recorded 28 in the loss to the Blazers last month. The Kings are dead last in the league in defensive field goal percentage (49.5) and allow 111.6 points a contest.

The Kings have been playing much better recently now that they are spreading the scoring out and defense is getting a little tighter. Portland has to be sick of the road by now and will come up short here in Sacramento.
