Bovada NFL Odds: Super Bowl 59 First Touchdown Prediction

Another popular prop bet not just in the Super Bowl, but the regular season as well, is who will score the first touchdown of the game. Some of the payouts can be pretty rewarding and a little luck is involved. Here are a couple of players that I’m taking a shot at with odds courtesy of Bovada Sportsbook.

Jalen Hurts (+625)

Saquon Barkley is the easy pick if you think the Eagles will score the game’s first touchdown, but he’s the big favorite at +325. Hurts had three rushing touchdowns against Kansas City in Super Bowl 57. He had three more last week in the NFC Championship Game and he has seven rushing TDs in the last six full games he played. If the Eagles can just to the two-yard line, we should see the ‘tush-push’.

DeVonta Smith (+1700)

My other play will be DeVonta Smith at a nice +1400 price. The Chiefs will likely be focusing mostly on Barkley and A.J. Brown, which gives Smith good value. He had seven catches for 100 yards the last time he played Kansas City. Also, the Eagles love to target him in the red zone. Smith was the most targeted Philadelphia receiver in the red zone this year, seeing 12 red zone targets, eight receptions and a rushing attempt.
