The 3rd ranked Alabama Crimson Tide come into this season with uncertainty at quarterback. Nick Saban has yet to announce who will start on Saturday against 20th ranked Wisconsin in Arlington, Texas. Many believe it will be senior Jake Coker. He had decent stats last year in limited action. He completed 38 of 59 passes, 4 touchdowns, and zero picks. Running back Derrick Henry is one of only 3 starters on offense to return from last year’s 12-2 team. It really doesn’t matter how many starters a program like Alabama brings back. They are always one of the top recruiting classes in the Nation and this year is not exception. Expect a slow start offensively to the season, but offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin will have them in sync in no time.

This will easily be Wisconsin’s toughest test of the year until the Big Ten title game in December. They’ll probably be favored in every game after this. 5′ 11″ RB Corey Clement will take over for Melvin Gordon who left Wisconsin as the 3rd leading rusher in program history. Clement averaged 6.5 yards a carry and 9 touchdowns. He will be running behind one of the best offensive lines in the country. The question always for Wisconsin is quarterback play. The Badgers are always a running team and rely on the QB to just manage the game, but if Joel Stave can put together some better numbers this year, Wisconsin could end up in the College Football Playoffs even if they lose tonight.
I really do think Alabama will win this game, but I think the Badgers can control enough of the clock and keep Alabama’s offense in check and keep it close.
Pick: Wisconsin +12
