Just to show you how bad this has been, the Monday Night debacle also worked against me, as I had the Packers winning and covering the 3.5 point spread, neither of which happened because of a faulty ruling. Yes, that’s a tough call to make for even the seasoned officials, and yes the rulebook is a walking contradiction because “catch” and “possession” sometimes mean the same thing and sometimes mean different things, and yes that play should be allowed to be reviewed under instant replay, but no the Packers should not have lost that game. End of story. And now, week four picks, with a new mentality â keep ‘em short and sweet and just pick the right team to win, and then we’ll see how I feel about the spread.
Cleveland Browns @ Baltimore Ravens Thu, 8:20pm, NFLN Line: Ravens by 12 Baltimore will win this game. But Clevelandâs defense is good, so Iâll say that at least keep it within two touchdowns Pick: Baltimore 24, Cleveland 16
Carolina Panthers @ Atlanta Falcons Sun, 1pm, FOX Line: Falcons by 7.5 Atlanta will win this game. Matt Ryan has a big day and the Panthers defense looks worse than they did against the Giants. Pick: Atlanta 35, Carolina 17
Minnesota Vikings @ Detroit Lions Sun, 1pm, FOX Line: Lions by 6 Detroit is the better team here, and I am still not sold in Minnesota in any way. That means the Lions win this by at least a touchdown. Pick: Detroit 24, Minnesota 14
New England Patriots @ Buffalo Bills Sun, 1pm, CBS Line: Patriots by 4.5 Buffalo is hot, but the Patriots are still the better team and win this game. With all the field goal games in this league, though, I canât take the 4.5 point spread. Pick: New England 27, Buffalo 24
San Diego Chargers @ Kansas City Chiefs Sun, 1pm, CBS Line: Chargers by 1 San Diego looked awful last week, so K.C. wins this game. Itâll be close, but I still canât buy into Norv Turner and the Chargers. Pick: Kansas City 23, San Diego 20

San Francisco 49âers @ New York Jets Sun, 1pm, FOX Line: 49âers by 4.5 Since drafting Darrelle Revis, the jets have had 0 interceptions on plays where he has not been on the field. The 49âers rebound and maul the Jets. Pick: San Francisco 31, New York 17
Seattle Seahawks @ St. Louis Rams Sun, 1pm, FOX Line: Seahawks by 3 So the refs are back. That might make it more difficult for Seattle to win this game. Rams pull the upset here. Pick: St. Louis 24, Seattle 20
Tennessee Titans @ Houston Texans Sun, 1pm, CBS Line: Texans by 12 Houston is at home and is the much better team, so theyâll win this game. Twelve points is high but I hate hedging with bad road teams against good home teams. Pick: Houston 34, Tennessee 17
Cincinnati Bengals @ Jacksonville Jaguars Sun, 4:05pm, CBS Line: Bengals by 3 I still donât believe for one second in the Jaguars. Cincinnati wins this game in a rout. Pick: Cincinnati 33, Jacksonville 10

Miami Dolphins @ Arizona Cardinals Sun, 4:05pm, CBS Line: Cardinals by 5 The Dolphins stink and the Cardinals are sneaky good. Should be the easiest game on the board. Pick: Arizona 31, Miami 13
Oakland Raiders @ Denver Broncos Sun, 4:05pm, CBS Line: Broncos by 6.5 Denver is the better team and should win at home, but they havenât looked good so weâre picking a close AFC West battle and a Raiders cover. Pick: Denver 24, Oakland 20
New Orleans Saints @ Green Bay Packers Sun, 4:25pm, FOX Line: Packers by 8 Packers finish off the Saints season at Lambeau, as they take out some anger from Monday nightâs atrocious ending. Pick: Green Bay 27, New Orleans 17
Washington Redskins @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sun, 4:25pm, FOX Line: Buccaneers by 3 Iâm off the Redskins bandwagon because their defense stinks, but Tampa had 168 yards of total offense against Dallas. Am I allowed to actually pick a push? Pick: Washington 17, Tampa Bay 16
New York Giants @ Philadelphia Eagles Sun, 8:20pm, NBC Line: Eagles by 1 The last time the Giants lost a road game was like 12 years ago. Eagles are overrated. Giants win this game. Pick: New York 28, Philadelphia 20
Chicago Bears @ Dallas Cowboys Mon, 8:30pm, ESPN Line: Cowboys by 4 Chicago has dominated their two home games and looked atrocious in Green Bay. Another road game here, so Dallas wins. Pick: Dallas 28, Chicago 20
Straight-Up: 23-25 Against Spread: 13-33-2
