In case you have forgotten, this has been the most unusual sports calendar year in our history. Well, get ready for another annual even taking place well outside the norm. The PGA Tour presents The Masters this week from Augusta, Georgia.
The last time the Masters was not held in April was in 1939 when it was played in March. Since 1945, the Masters has always been played during the second weekend of April. We usually see the amazing azaleas blooming and the first sign of Spring. This year will be much different looking, but the field remains as strong as ever. Bryson DeChambeau comes into this year’s edition as the +800 favorite according to Bovada Sportsbook.
The days are shorter this time of year, so tee times will be moved earlier on the weekend for TV reasons as CBS has Alabama-LSU to show on Saturday evening and an NFL game in the 4 p.m. ET widow Sunday.
Bryson DeChambeau | +800 |
Dustin Johnson | +900 |
Jon Rahm | +1000 |
Justin Thomas | +1100 |
Rory McIlroy | +1200 |
Xander Schauffele | +1400 |
Brooks Koepka | +1600 |
Patrick Cantlay | +2500 |
It’s been almost a year and a half since we saw Tiger Woods win the last Masters. It was his fifth green jacket and first major victory in a span of almost 11 years. Woods finished at 13-under 275, one shot ahead of fellow Americans Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka and Xander Schauffele. Tiger is +3000 to become the first golfer in history to win the Masters in back-to-back years twice. DeChambeau has a chance to win his second major in a row after taking the rescheduled U.S. Open in September.
