The Washington Redskins bring their top ranked defense in this Thursday Night’s game against NFC East rival the New York Giants. Yes, I said that correctly. The Redskins have the number one defense in terms of yards allowed in the NFL. They are allowing only 234 yards a game after two weeks. They lost their home opener to Miami 17-10, but came back last week to upset the Dolphins 24-10. Kirk Cousins seems to be doing just fine as the Redskins quarterback so far. He’s completed 76% of his passes for 399 yards and 2 touchdowns through two weeks. Alfred Morris is averaging 90 yards a game on the ground. With Dallas losing both Tony Romo and Dez Bryant for some time, the Redskins feel they can compete in this division race. This will be their road opener tonight then they return home next week to play the Eagles. It doesn’t get an easier after that. They then play at Atlanta and at NY Jets.

The Giants come in desperately needing a win. They already lost to Dallas in Week 1 after leading in the 4th quarter, then did the same thing last week against Atlanta at home. Their defense is really struggling right now ranking dead last in pass defense allowing 351 yards a game. Oddly enough, their un defense ranks 3rd allowing only 68 yards a game. Tonight will be their 2nd of 5 prime time games this year. Right now, they’re not playing like a prime time team. Eli Manning hasn’t been too bad thus far. He hasn’t thrown an interception, but only has 2 touchdowns. The lack of running game is hurting him. Their leading rusher is Rashad Jennings who’s only averaging 2.9 yard a carry and has only 64 yards rushing in 2 games. Odell Beckham is once again Eli’s favorite target this year catching 12 balls for 190 yards and a touchdown so far this year.
The Giants usually play pretty good with their backs to the wall under Coughlan. They can not afford to go 0-3 and 0-2 in their division. Cousins will probably have a good game tonight, but I don’t think it will be enough. Giants win a close game.
Pick: Redskins +4
