The Northern Illinois Huskies can wrap up their sixth consecutive MAC West title tonight and a date with Bowling Green next week for the MAC Championship when they host the Ohio Bobcats on Tuesday. The Huskies have won 6 straight games overall including wins over their stiffest competition, Toledo and Western Michigan. Northern Illinois had to comeback from a 19-14 fourth quarter deficit to defeat the Broncos last week 27-19. Star running back Joel Bouagnon was held to just 70 yards, but sophomore Jordan Huff had a career-high 159 yards rushing on just 8 carries highlighted by an 87 yard touchdown run in the 2nd quarter. Freshman quarterback Ryan Graham, who is playing for the injured Drew Hare, was shaky in completing 11-of-23 passes for 158 yards, but did pick up 39 yards on the ground. The rushing attack for Northern Illinois has been getting better and better each week and now ranks 18th in the nation at 226.1 yard a game. If the Huskies lose tonight, they can still win the MAC West if Western Michigan beats Toledo on Friday.

The Ohio Bobcats can wrap up second place in the MAC East with an upset win tonight and improve their Bowl portfolio. The Bobcats won five of their first six games before getting blown-out in three straight games. They now have a two-game win streak after last week’s 48-31 win over Ball State. Backup quarterback JD Sprague was brilliant completing 15-of-22 passes for 275 yards, 3 touchdowns, and no interceptions. Two of those TDs went to Jordan Reid who had 112 yards on just four catches. A.J. Ouellette ran for a season-high 121 yards and two scores. Running back Daz’mond Patterson left the game after running for 44 yards on four carries and is questionable for tonight’s game. Starting quarterback Derrius Vick, who missed the last game with an injury, might be back to play tonight as well. According to the latest bowl predictions by various college sites, Ohio is projected to play Old Dominion in the Bahamas Bowl on December 24th.
Northern Illinois should win this game as Ohio is battling a bunch of injuries on both sides of the ball. The Bobcats will keep this close for a while, but the Huskies will pull away like they did last week and win this by two touchdowns or more.
Pick: Northern Illinois -13
