Two teams currently hanging onto playoff spots in the new WNBA postseason format will meet Saturday night as the Seattle Storm host the Atlanta Dream at Key Arena. Atlanta is tied for the sixth spot with the New York Liberty while Seattle is percentage points ahead of Dallas for the eighth and final spot. Last year, the league changed the format to have the top eight teams, regardless of conference, qualify for the postseason. The Dream dropped the first game of their two-game West Coast trip on Wednesday when they fell 89-84 to the Phoenix Mercury. Atlanta was outscored 28-17 in the final quarter to snap a two-game winning streak. Layshia Clarendon had one of her finest games of the season for the Dream, recording a double-double with 21 points and 10 assists. Clarendon, who averages 11.6 points a game, is averaging 21.3 over her last three contests. Atlanta still struggles with shooting the basketball, ranking 12th (last) in three-point percentage and 11th in free throw percentage.

Seattle is currently 1-2 on their five-game homestand and failed to follow-up and upset win over the Los Angeles Sparks, dropping a 83-79 decision to the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday. The Storm shot 50.8% from the field against the Sun, but were just 6-of-20 from three-point land and were outrebounded 33-27. Breanna Stewart had a huge game for Seattle, scoring 22 points on 10-of-17 shooting, while grabbing eight rebounds. Stewart leads the team in scoring (19.1), rebounds (8.9), and blocked shots (26). Seattle ranks second in the league in field goal percentage (47.4), but are just eighth in scoring (81.4). The Storm will wrap-up their homestand on Tuesday against Chicago.

Atlanta is just 3-6 on the road and continues to struggle shooting the basketball. Seattle is one of the worst rebounding teams in the league, but lucky for them, so is Atlanta. The Storm will get it done tonight and increase their chances of making the playoffs.
Pick: Storm -3
