The final game of the Divisional Round this weekend should be a good one. The Dallas Cowboys, fresh off a rare playoff win, will travel to San Francisco to take on the 49ers at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Cal. San Francisco comes in red-hot, winners of 11 consecutive games including last week’s 41-23 wild card win over the Seattle Seahawks.

Third-string quarterback Brock Purdy continues to impress doubters for the 49ers. Purdy, a seventh-round draft pick, threw three TD passes, completed passes to seven different receivers and the 49ers recorded a season-high in points.

These teams met in last year’s wild card round and the 49ers upset the Cowboys 23-17 in Arlington behind Jimmy Garoppolo. San Francisco ran for 169 yards and two scores. The road team is 4-1-1 ATS in the past six meetings.

The Cowboys went to Tampa Bay last week as 2.5-point underdogs and throttled the Buccaneers 31-14, completely shutting down Tom Brady. The Cowboys have won seven of their last nine games overall, but are just 4-4-1 ATS in that span.

If the game comes down to the kickers, San Francisco has a huge advantage. Dallas kicker Brett Maher broke an NFL record last week by missing four extra points at Tampa. Maher enters Sunday’s contest as the kicker, but may have a short leash. Robbie Gould of San Francisco is a perfect 25-for-25 on field-goal attempts and 37-for-37 on PATs in his playoff career.

Dak Prescott completely carved-up the Bucs defense on Monday night for his first career playoff victory. He completed 22-of-33 for 305 yards and four touchdowns, while rushing for another score. It was Dallas’ first playoff road win since the the 1992 NFC Championship Game. The Cowboys have lost six straight Divisional playoff games, the longest streak of all-time since the creation of the round in 1970. The defense is led by All-Pro Micah Parsons, who had a sack of Brady last week and two pass deflections. The Cowboys were fifth overall in points allowed (20.1) and eighth against the pass (200.9). The Cowboys are 12-5-1 against the spread in their last 18 road games.

Purdy finished last week with 332 yards passing and three touchdowns along with a rushing score. Purdy became the first player with multiple pass TDs and a rush TD in his playoff debut since San Francisco’s Colin Kaepernick in the 2012 Divisional Round vs. the Packers. He has now thrown for multiple touchdowns in seven straight games overall, tying him with Justin Herbert for the longest streak by a rookie QB since 1950. Running back Christian McCaffrey had 119 yards rushing with a receiving TD against Seattle, while Deebo Samuel totaled 165 yards from scrimmage and a score. The defense, which gave up only 16.7 points per game in the regular season, is led by Nick Bosa. The Defensive Player of the Year candidate had 18.5 of the team’s 44 sacks, while the secondary tied for the league lead with 20 interceptions.

Dallas looked terrific last week in Tampa, but the Bucs defense is not even close to what the San Fran defense is. Prescott is going to be under siege all night and he tends to throw interceptions when rattled. The 49ers’ offense seems to be in capable hands of Purdy. I can see San Francisco winning this one by double-digits.
