They have won 3 of 4 and actually scored 10 runs yesterday against Atlanta. One of those young pitchers takes the hill tonight. Noah Syndergaard will start his 7th game of the year. He started out great, but his last two starts have been bad. Ten innings pitched, 20 hits, and 11 runs allowed to San Diego and San Francisco. He does average a strikeout an inning and has only walked 6 in 34+ innings. His home ERA is a nice 2.33. The Toronto Blue Jays come into this series just mashing the ball. They have won 11 in a row and are averaging an amazing 8 runs a game during this streak. They are first in the majors with 5.56 runs a game and 2nd in batting average at .271. With those 11 wins in a row they’re still 3rd in the American League East, but only 1 game behind the Yankees for first. Pitching is still an issue in Toronto. They rank near the bottom in all categories including a 4.29 ERA. Veteran Mark Buehrle takes the mound for the Blue Jays tonight. In 12 starts he’s 7-4 with a 4.25 ERA. He only has 35 strikeouts in 78 innings. He’s a contact pitcher who works extremely fast. He does have 3 complete games this year. He’s as durable as they come as he’s pitched over 200 innings every year since 2001. It’s really hard not to take Toronto tonight, especially with a line of +100. You really have to keep betting a team this hot until they lose. The Mets can’t hit and they’re even worse against left handed pitching. Pick: Blue Jays +100 |
