It’s time again for College Football to get underway. Here is a preview of this years’ ACC Atlantic Division.

Virginia Tech Hokies will have8 starters back on defense this year, which for the last two yearshas been ranked # 1 in the league. As for offense, they didn’thave the greatest year in 06 but with an improved running gamethey should be able to average more than 113 yards a game.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jacketswill have a new QB starting this year as well as wide receivers. The new QB will have an excellent offensive line to protect himwhich should allow him to throw up some big numbers just likein last year’s Gator Bowl. Unfortunately they will be withouttheir best wide receiver this year due to the NFL draft. As forthe Yellow Jackets defense they’ll have 8 starters back for the07 season.

The Virginia Cavs should havea great year running the ball down the field. Their offensiveline is very deep and is considered to be one of the best. Asfor defense they’re returning 10 starters, all but the cornerbackposition is still up for grabs. The Cavs should have a very improvedseason in 07.

The Miami Hurricanes are inthe midst of a quarterback conundrum right now and they won’tknow who the starter will be until a week before the season starts. The Hurricanes are going to need a big boost from their receiversthis year. On the defensive side of things the Canes are lookinggreat. They have 8 starters returning and a full secondary that’svery experienced. There’s also a new kicker and a super toughschedule to deal with.

The North Carolina Tar Heelshave 4 of their top pass catchers back this year. They also bringin a new coach who likes to work the ball on the ground, keepingthe defense on their toes. Unfortunately the Tar Heels don’t havewhat it takes in the defense department, with only five startersreturning this year and the rest of the line being young and inexperienced. They’ll have to wait a couple more years.

The Duke Blue Devils have keptall 11 offensive starters this year even after they stunk it upin 06. Instead they brought in a new offensive coordinator, whowas previously with Notre Dame. As for defense they’re going tobe as bad as their offense was last year.
