The Atlanta Hawks look for back-to-back strong performances when they host the Washington Wizards in Game 4 of their first round series on Monday night. Atlanta’s Paul Millsap had 29 points and 14 rebounds for his second straight double-double and the Hawks led wire-to-wire in beating the Wizards 116-98 on Saturday in Game 3. Millsap was 12-of-20 from the field and had five assists, but was only 5-of-9 at the foul line. Millsap had 19 double-doubles during the regular season and is averaging 25 points in the playoffs. Atlanta also got 27 points from Dennis Schroder, who is averaging 25 points in the playoffs. He scored 20 of those in the first half, and added nine assists. Rookie Taurean Prince chipped in with 16 points. After shooting 86.8% and 82.1% from the line in the first two games, Atlanta made only 19-of-32 (59.4%) in Saturday’s Game 3.

Washington got 29 points from star guard John Wall, who was 10-of-12 from the field and added seven assists and four rebounds. Wall, who scored 32 points in each of the first two games, has been the only consistent scorer for Washington. Brandon Jennings came off the bench to score 13 points and Bradley Beal, who had 31 in the second game of the series, was 6 of 20 from the field and scored 12 points. Bojan Bogdanovic added 11 points as the Wizards still own home court advantage by virtue of winning the first two games. Washington allowed the Hawks to shoot 65% from the field in the first quarter and couldn’t seem to recover. The Wizards shot a miserable 41.6% for the game and made just 7-of-29 three-pointers. Washington was without backup C Ian Mahinmi, who missed his second straight game with a strained left calf.

Game 3 was just a hiccup for this Washington team, who is clearly the better team. Look for Wall to continue his solid play and for Beal to rebound from a poor performance. This game will be close throughout, but the Wizards will pull away in the end.
Pick: Wizards +2.5
