Arizona Cardinals @ Philadelphia Eagles
Sun, 1pm, FOX
Line: Eagles by 3
Get a coin, flip it 11 times. That’s what I did, and it came up tails (i.e. road team) six times. I’m really not lying. That’s how much of a feel I have for either of these teams right now. Short of the stadium imploding, there’s really no outcome that could possibly result from this game that would surprise me even a little bit. So I went with the “quarter” philosophy, and I suggest you do the same – or better yet, just find a different game on which to wager. Much safer move.
Pick: Arizona 32, Philadelphia 28

Chicago Bears @ Minnesota Vikings
Sun, 1pm, FOX
Line: Pick
Pick? Ok, I pick “tie!”

Wait, that happened last week?

Damn.
Pick: Chicago 23, Minnesota 20

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Cleveland Browns
Sun, 1pm, CBS
Line: Browns by 7
Ok kiddies, who’s been paying attention to three straight Jaguars covers? And who’s been paying attention to the last 50+ years of Cleveland sports history? Put it together and what have you got? Bippity boppity boo – and Jacksonville too (come on… at least to cover…)
Pick: Cleveland 16, Jacksonville 13

Miami Dolphins @ New York Jets
Sun, 1pm, CBS
Line: Jets by 2
Not happening. You’re not roping me in again, Jets. I see it coming. You’re gonna win this game and make me start to believe it can happen, that you can actually make the playoffs. Well I’m wise to your game now and I’m not playing along anymore. You WON’T win this game!

(On a side note, how often does reverse psychology actually work?)
Pick: Miami 17, New York 16

New England Patriots @ Houston Texans
Sun, 4:25pm, CBS
Line: Patriots by 7.5
I’d take this line at double the number, and then some.
Pick: New England 38, Houston 13

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Carolina Panthers
Sun, 1pm, FOX
Line: Panthers by 8
Can the three win Bucs actually make it four? I really can’t imagine Mike Glennon doing much damage against a Panthers defense that’s been as good as any unit in the league over the past month and a half, so I’ll say not only does Carolina win, I see no other choice but taking them to cover, too.
Pick: Carolina 34, Tampa Bay 15

Tennessee Titans @ Indianapolis Colts
Sun, 1pm, CBS
Line: Colts by 4.5
I can’t take this Colts team by anything higher than a field goal right now. I just can’t. I don’t think the Titans can actually win, but I’ve been bad with lines like this all year so I’m sticking with my first instinct.
Pick: Indianapolis 21, Tennessee 19

Atlanta Falcons @ Buffalo Bills (Toronto, ONT)
Sun, 4:05pm, FOX
Line: Bills by 3
Good thing this game won’t conflict with the Grey Cup… eh?
Pick: Buffalo 24, Atlanta 17

St. Louis Rams @ San Francisco 49’ers
Sun, 4:05pm, FOX
Line: 49’ers by 8
Are we attributing the big road win on Monday night to a resurgence of the San Francisco offense, or just the byproduct of playing 60 minutes of football against the Redskins defense? I’ll go with the latter…
Pick: San Francisco 20, St. Louis 17

Cincinnati Bengals @ San Diego Chargers
Sun, 4:25pm, CBS
Line: Pick
Andy Dalton on the road against Philip Rivers coming off possibly his best game ever? And it’s even up? Where do I sign?
Pick: San Diego 34, Cincinnati 23
(translation: bet heavily on the Bengals)

Denver Broncos @ Kansas City Chiefs
Sun, 4:25pm, CBS
Line: Broncos by 4.5
When I took Denver two weeks ago, I assumed the Chiefs would return the favor and win this one, but now they won’t have Justin Houston and they’ll have an injured Tamba Hali. I think Manning has another big day – only this time the Broncos hold on to their lead.
Pick: Denver 31, Kansas City 17

New York Giants @ Washington Redskins
Sun, 8:30pm, NBC
Line: Giants by 1
It’s the always exciting game of, “Who will be picked off last?” My money is on Griffin.
Pick: New York 27, Washington 20

New Orleans Saints @ Seattle Seahawks
Mon, 8:30pm, ESPN
Line: Seahawks by 4.5
This game basically decides the NFC’s Super Bowl entry, because neither of these teams are losing a home playoff game. Sorry Cowboys, Lions, Eagles, 49’ers, Panthers, Bears, Cardinals, and Packers fans – it’s just not happening. I really hope the Saints pull this out, so I’m taking a cover, but when a team is 12-0 in their last 12 home games, you wait until a road team actually wins in their building before you pick against a home team with that record.
Pick: Seattle 33, New Orleans 31

Straight-Up: 111-67-1
Against Spread: 83-90-6
