The 2025/2026 NFL season is on, and so we shall all see which teams have made the right moves in the offseason and which have made costly mistakes based on their roster or backroom changes.
However, if you are a betting fan, this is also the time to snap up juicy odds to win big returns when they play out as you predict. 1. Philadelphia Eagles
Yes, yes, you’re going to remind me that a Super Bowl winner rarely ever successfully defends their championship, and you would be absolutely correct. But the bookies have them high up on their list too at +700, and I’ll tell you why:

- The Eagles have designed their team not to rely on singular superstars, and while, yes, there have been significant player exits, this is the mentality and quality that gets them over the line. But that’s not all.
- They have also retained offensive quality in Quarterback Jalen Hurts, and Wide Receivers A. J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. Retaining these talents allows them to sustain their offensive systems and even build on them.
- The Eagles have emphasized depth in their roster, building their offensive and defensive lines two-deep with NFL-quality backup, even if they may not all be star players.
But the season is long; injuries, trades, and life happen, and what was that thing Mike Tyson said about everyone having a plan until you’re punched in the face?
For example, Landon Dickerson is already out with a back injury for an as-yet undetermined period, so that depth will now be tested in the coming weeks.
2. Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens are one of the most defensively dominant teams in the League, with their defensive scheme able to slow down any offense, and that should count for something.
They conceded the second-lowest points last season, behind the Eagles, and even now they are tied with them on +700 in the Bookies’ projection for most likely to win the Championship come February.
Ravens’ Strengths
- Coaching consistency has to count for something, right? They consistently make the playoffs, and it is a credit to Head Coach John Harbaugh’s system. That consistency also makes for the right environment for new drafts to adapt quickly and grow fast (they’re the best environment for new drafts in the league for the same reason).
- Quarterback Lamar Jackson still plays for them. That’s it, the man who gives defenses the biggest preparation headache plays for the Ravens, and if they can keep him fit through the season, he is a match-winner.
- If they can keep their offense fit and scoring points by January, they have the defensive solidity (which still performs at a good level when backups come in for starters) to go all the way.
If the Ravens finally break out of the “almost” gene, then they also have a potential MVP winner in Jackson. You should be on the lookout for that bet.
3. Buffalo Bills
Another one highly rated by the Bookies, currently being offered at +700, and why not? Here are the reasons why the Bills might win their first-ever Super Bowl championship this season:
Bills’ Strengths
- They have the reigning MVP, and with him in his prime years, it would be a big risk to bet against him replicating the same performances this season, barring injuries.
- Added to QB Josh Allen is an unstoppable offensive system that scored a franchise-high 525 points last season, and was sacked only 2.6% of the time (a league low).
- They have added experience and depth to their defensive line and trenches depth by adding Joey Bosa, Larry Ogunjobi, Joshua Palmer, and Tre’Davious White, which should hopefully help Allen to not always need to win games via offensive points alone, especially through rushes.
If they can dig in and sack offenses, they might be able to do it this year. The Bookies definitely think so.
4. Green Bay Packers
The Packers might have an upset in them this 2025 season, with their offseason business showing their ambitions.
Packers’ Strengths
- Jordan Love is following in the footsteps of the man he replaced, future Hall of Famer Anthony Rodgers. If he sustains the growth he has shown over the last two seasons and avoids injuries, they might go all the way. But that’s not only because of Love.
- By acquiring Micah Parsons, the Packers might have also transformed their defense and elevated themselves from just another good team in the league to serious challengers.
- Unlike the latter Rodgers years, their offseason business now means that the Packers finally have a balanced team, and with real quality in both offense and defense, they now possess genuine matchwinners on their O and D-lines, which now makes them less predictable for opponents.
Bookies have them on +1200, and if you don’t snap them up now, you might not get a better deal as the season progresses. Also, there’s a possible opportunity for good returns on Parsons for Defensive Player of the Year.
5. Detroit Lions
The Lions are here purely because of their offensive quality. They have not addressed their defensive issues satisfactorily, however, so this is a risky one, which is why, for all their scoring quality, the Bookies have them on +1200.
Lions’ Strengths
- Second-order effect, yes, but the major reason why they even made it into these conversations is due to Dan Campbell’s coaching, and as long as they retain him, the Lions will always believe they can solve in-game challenges.
- They have an aggressive offense which don’t know when they’re down and aren’t afraid to go for it. And with Goff, Amon-Ra, Montgomery, Williams, and Gibbs, they make a high-scoring offense that might be able to make up for defensive weaknesses.
Will these be enough to see them all the way? I don’t know, but we will see.
