The Indiana Fever look for their first road victory of the season when they visit the Washington Mystics in WNBA action on Sunday afternoon. The Fever are 0-4 away from home with three of those losses coming by 20+ points and will play two of their next three on the road. Indiana has won two of their past three games – all at home – including an 83-80 win over Seattle on Friday. Erica Wheeler scored 19 points in the win over the Storm, while Candice Dupree had 16 points and 12 rebounds for her first double-double of the season. Natalie Achonwa scored 17 off the bench after going scoreless in Indiana’s 98-90 home overtime to the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday. Wheeler is playing a larger role because of Briann January’s left Achilles tendon strain. She scored a career-high 24 points against Phoenix. The Fever are dead-last in points allowed (87.4) and field goal percentage defense (49.8%). A win by the Fever tonight would get them to .500 and just a game out of first place in the East.

The Mystics come into this contest with a big injury concern in leading scorer Elena Delle Donne. Playing without Delle Donne and against the WNBA’s lone undefeated team, Washington’s four-game winning streak came to an end with a 98-73 loss to the Minnesota Lynx on Friday. Washington allowed the Lynx to shoot 52.6% from the field and 11 of 24 on 3-point shots. Washington couldn’t match that production without Delle Donne and Emma Meesseman, who is overseas with the Belgium national team. Tayler Hill scored 20 points and Ivory Latta had 15, but the Mystics committed 15 turnovers. Acquired in a trade with the Chicago Sky in January, Delle Donne is among the league leaders with 20.6 points per game and is shooting 95 percent (57 of 60) from the free throw line. Her status for Sunday’s game remains uncertain, meaning the Mystics must prepare to rebound potentially without the 2015 WNBA Most Valuable Player.

Dell Donne is list as questionable for this contest, but Washington should be able to handle the Fever at home. Indiana is not only winless on the road, but they’re bad (0-3-1 ATS). I’ll lay the points here today and hope Dell Donne plays.
Pick: Mystics -6
