The Nashville Predators look to continue feeding off their frenzied home crowd when they host Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals on Thursday night against the Anaheim Ducks. Defenseman Roman Josi scored a power-play goal with 2:43 remaining, and the Predators rallied to beat the Ducks 2-1 in Game 3 in their first ever conference finals home game. It was Nashville’s 10th straight home win in the postseason dating back to last season. Filip Forsberg tied it up at 3:54 of the third period and thought they had taken the lead later on only to have two goals within eight seconds waved off for goalie interference. Nashville continues to receive solid production from its blue-line, with Josi delivering the decisive goal and Ryan Ellis adding an assist to boost their playoff totals to 10 points each – a franchise record for defensemen. Overall, the unit combined for more shots on goal (21) in Game 3 than the Ducks (20) did as a team, led by nine from Ellis – who failed to record a shot in Game 2. Goalie Pekka Rinne has allowed seven goals in six home playoff games, including one in each of the past five.

Anaheim had evened the series with an impressive 5-3 victory in Game 2, but it was outshot by a 2-to-1 margin (40-20) and was unable to protect a third-period lead for the first time in six games this postseason. The Ducks have rallied four times this postseason when trailing by multiple goals, but couldn’t hold a lead in Game 3. Goalie John Gibson made 38 saves, while Corey Perry scored the lone goal on a power-play in the second period. Perry, who was bumped off Anaheim’s top line in Game 2, scored for only the second time in the past 11 games on a bad-angle shot, but the Ducks were unable to generate sustained pressure and failed to record a shot on goal in the final 11 minutes Tuesday. Perry’s goal was his 35th in postseason play, tying Teemu Selanne (35) for second place on the franchise’s all-time list. Center Ryan Kesler has been superb on faceoffs, but he won 9 of 22 on Tuesday after going 27-18 in the first two games. It was just Anaheim’s second road playoff loss this postseason, but both have come in the last two contests.

The Predators and Rinne are simply unbeatable at home right now and I’m going to stick with that trend. The Nashville defense will continue to contribute points and the Predators will be one step closer to the Finals.
Pick: Predators -150
