The NCAA College Football AP Preseason Poll has been released and we thought we’d compare the poll to the odds to actually win the National Title from Bovada Sportsbook. To nobody’s surprise, the rankings don’t line up exactly like the odds with the exception of Alabama, who is ranked #1 to start the season and is the odds on favorite to repeat as National Champions. The second choice in the betting odds is LSU at 7/1, but they will start the year ranked 5th, while 2nd ranked Clemson is the third betting choice. Georgia, which is ranked 18th to start the year, has better odds of winning the title than the seven teams ahead of them. That is the power of the SEC. Oklahoma is the seventh ranked team in terms of odds, but will start the year as the third ranked team in the country. I actually like the Sooners odds at 16/1. If they can get through the first four games unscathed (Houston, ULM, Ohio State, TCU), they should cruise to the BCS Playoffs.
