The NBA season is quickly coming down to the wire and the battle for the New York area resumes this Wednesday night as the New York Knicks host the Brooklyn Nets. Game time is set for 7:30 PM ET on ESPN from the world famous Madison Square Garden.

The Nets (40-38 SU, 31-45-2 ATS) have a lot of work to do before the postseason. They’re guaranteed a berth in the Eastern Conference play-in tournament already. Brooklyn wrapped up the weekend in 10th place, 5.5 games ahead of the Knicks (35-44 SU, 37-42 ATS) with just three games left in the regular season. However, the Nets can improve their chances in the playoffs if they move up into eighth. The 41-37 Atlanta Hawks are one game ahead of Brooklyn and the 40-38 Charlotte Hornets for that spot.
Now that the mask mandate has been lifted in New York City, Kyrie Irving should be available to play for the Nets. Goran Dragic is in medical protocols, and both Seth Curry and Bruce Brown are listed as day-to-day. The Knicks’ roster is in much worse shape, with Kemba Walker and Cam Reddish sitting out the rest of the season. Julius Randle and Nerlens Noel are out indefinitely, and Derrick Rose is considered week-to-week.
