The point spread for this year’s Maaco Las Vegas Bowl between the Arizona State Sun Devils and Boise State Broncos opened up at -14 in favor of the Broncos at Bovada Sportsbook on 12/12/11. As of Friday night (12/16), the line has not moved. Bovada hasn’t released a total, but most books have it set at 65.5. Right now, 80% of the betting public is on Boise State and 69% are on the over. To help you better decide who to bet, take a look at these trends for tonight.

Sun Devils are 7-3-2 ATS in their last 12 games following a S.U. loss.

Sun Devils are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS loss.

Broncos are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 Bowl games.

Broncos are 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 vs. Pac-12.

Over is 4-1 in Sun Devils last 5 games following a ATS loss.

Under is 10-3 in Sun Devils last 13 non-conference games.

Under is 7-2-1 in Broncos last 10 non-conference games.

Over is 6-2 in Broncos last 8 games overall.

My Prediction: This game just might be the biggest mismatch this Bowl season. Arizona State lost their coach after the regular season and now they’ve hired a guy who is coaching his 4th team in 6 years. Not very stable. Arizona State lost their last 4 games and the defense gave up a lot of points in the process. Boise State lost their chance at BCS Bowl by losing to TCU 36-35. Boise has failed to cover the spread in their last 6 games, but in all fairness, four of those spreads were over 30 points. The Broncos shouldn’t have a hard time beating ASU by at least 3 touchdowns here.

Boise State -14
