The point spread for Thursday’s Big Ten contest between the Wisconsin Badgers and Michigan State Spartans opened up at -5.5 in favor of the Spartans at Bovada Sportsbook and the total was set at 111.5. As of Wednesday night the line has not moved. So far, 51% of the betting public is on Michigan State and 55% are on the over. Here are the latest trends for this game:

Badgers are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 Thursday games.

Badgers are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. win.

Spartans are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 home games.

Spartans are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall.

Under is 16-7 in Badgers last 23 Thursday games.

Under is 53-24-1 in Badgers last 78 games following a ATS win.

Under is 4-1 in Spartans last 5 vs. Big Ten.

Over is 7-2 in Spartans last 9 home games.

Under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Michigan St.

Home team is 11-4 ATS in the last 15 meetings.

My Prediction: Both Wisconsin and Michigan State try to keep pace with the Buckeyes in tonight’s key Big Ten contest. The Spartans can tie Ohio State with a win while the Badgers would fall two games back with a loss. Michigan State has been pretty dominant lately with the exception of a slip-up at Illinois on January 31st. They have covered the spread in 5 of their last 6. The Badgers are a good road team this year winning 8 of 10 away from Madison and are 7-3 ATS. I like this to be a close game until midway through the 2nd half until the Spartans pull away.

Michigan State -5.5
