The Golden State Warriors will look to sweep their third consecutive series and reach the NBA Finals when they visit the San Antonio Spurs for Game 4 of their Western Conference finals series at AT&T Center. Kevin Durant had 33 points and 10 rebounds and the visiting Warriors beat the injury-riddled Spurs 120-108 on Saturday to take a 3-0 series lead. The Warriors are the third team in NBA history to start a postseason with 11 straight wins. “I’m not surprised,” Golden State point guard Stephen Curry said. “Our goal is to win every game we play.” Curry added 21 points and became the franchise leader in postseason points, passing Hall of Famer Rick Barry. Durant took control of Game 3 with 19 of his 33 points in the third quarter and went 11-of-19 from the floor to mark his fifth straight postseason game shooting 50% or better. Klay Thompson scored 17 points in Game 3, matching his total from the first two games of the series. Center Zaza Pachulia (heel) sat out Game 3 and is questionable for Monday.

The Spurs put up a better fight than they did in Game 2, but without star Kawhi Leonard, they have nobody that can stop the Warriors scoring spurts. With Leonard and point guard Tony Parker out, the Spurs lost David Lee to a left knee injury in the opening quarter of Game 3. San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich called it “likely” that Leonard will miss Game 4, and Lee is likely to sit as well after suffering a reported partial tear of his left patella tendon. The shorthanded Spurs will continue to lean on veteran Manu Ginobili and second-year guard Jonathan Simmons, who is starting in place of Leonard. Simmons followed-up his 22 point Game 2 performance with just 14 points on Sunday and missed all four of his three-point attempts. San Antonio really needs LaMarcus Aldridge to step up, but he’s averaged just 13 points on 11-of-28 shooting in the last two games. Backup center Pau Gasol recorded his second double-double of the postseason with 12 points and 10 boards. If the Spurs can extend the series, Game 5 will be Wednesday night back in Oakland.

I just don’t see how the short-handed Spurs can compete with Golden State. They are demoralized with all the injuries and the frustration of trying to slow down the Warriors. I’ll lay the points in this one.
Pick: Warriors -12.5
