Thanksgiving weekend is coming to a close with a terrific Week 13 Monday Night Football matchup between two teams who know each other very well. The Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks will play each other for the eighth time since the 2015 season – two regular season games, one playoff, four preseason contests. Both are looking to win their respective divisions and are on their way to the playoffs. Minnesota is coming off a tough 27-23 home win over Denver back on Nov. 17 and are tied with the Green Bay Packers prior to Sunday’s action. The Seahawks have won four in a row after a 17-9 road win at Philadelphia last week to keep pressure on the 49ers in the NFC West. The teams played on Monday night late last season in Seattle with the Seahawks winning 21-7 in Week 14. Seattle led 3-0 entering the fourth quarter when both offenses woke up. Neither team had more than 276 yards offense and Russell Wilson threw for only 72 yards with an interception in one of the worst games of his career for Seattle. The ‘Hawks boast a 28-5-1 record (.838) in prime-time regular-season games with head coach Pete Carroll at the helm, including 18-2 at home. The Vikings are 1-4 ATS in the past five meetings and the over is 5-1 in the previous six in Seattle.

The Vikings come out of their bye week having won six of their past seven and avoided a huge Week 11 home upset to a bad Denver Broncos team. Denver led 20-0 at the half and no team had lost when it led by at least 20 at halftime since Week 16 of the 2014 season. Overall, NFL clubs had won 97 straight games when leading by at least 20 at the break. Also, Minnesota QB Kirk Cousins had never won a game with the Vikings when trailing in the fourth quarter. He had two TD passes in the quarter and threw for 319 yards and three scores overall to continue his stellar play. Cousins this contest with the longest active streak in the league with 177 consecutive attempts without an interception. Stefon Diggs caught five passes for 121 yards and a touchdown last game, while fellow wideout Adam Thielen has been upgraded to probable after missing several weeks with a hamstring injury. The defense is sixth in the league in points allowed (18.6), but are vulnerable through the air (244.5), ranking 20th in that department. Minnesota will host Detroit next week.

Seattle improved to a perfect 6-0 on the road last Sunday, but are just 3-2 at CenturyLink Field and just 1-4 ATS. Second-year running back Rashaad Penny broke out by rushing for a career-high 129 yards, including a 58-yard TD in the fourth quarter for a 17-3 lead. Penny got by far his most carries of the season as he has been behind Chris Carson in the depth chart, but Carson has been fumbling too much for Carroll’s liking. Wilson was fairly quiet in completing 13-of-25 for 200 yards with a touchdown and interception against the Eagles, as his top target Tyler Lockett had just one catch for 38 yards against the Eagles despite a nagging leg bruise. The Seahawks own the 29th-ranked pass defense in the NFL (268.7), but intercepted Philadelphia QB Carson Wentz twice last Sunday. Seattle will be at the struggling L.A. Rams next Sunday night.

Seattle has played much better on the road this year, but they always seems to step it up at home in prime time. The Vikings have struggled a bit their last few games against poor teams and will be in for a tough time on Monday. Seattle outscores Minnesota in this one.
