Since 2005, at least one 11-seed has beaten a 6-seed in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament. Of the four matchups this year, I think VCU has the best chance of moving on. The Tar Heels were a legitimate threat to make the Final Four until leading scorer and potential NBA lottery pick Caleb Wilson went down for the season. North Carolina still has a solid squad, but they went just 8-9 away from home this season. VCU comes in winning 16 of their last 17 games and are a well-rounded group. The Rams can wear down the Heels with a 10-man rotation and they rank in the top 15 at getting to the foul line. VCU also led the A-10 and ranked seventh nationally in bench scoring (34.0 PPG ) while leading the conference in free-throw attempts at 25.5 per game. Give me VCU.
