Last year’s NBA MVP Russell Westbrook, will go up against the favorite to win this year’s award in Giannis Antetokounmpo as the Oklahoma City visit the Milwaukee Bucks on Halloween night. The ‘Greek Freak’ has put up huge numbers thus far for a Bucks team that should be competing for a top four spot in the Eastern Conference this season. Antetokounmpo leads the NBA with a 34.7 scoring average and has four double-doubles while shooting a sizzling 63.1% from the field. He contributed 33 points and 11 rebounds in Sunday’s 117-106 road win over the Atlanta Hawks to post his fifth 30-point outing of the season. Westbrook became the first player in NBA history to post a triple-double against 29 different opponents when he had 12 points, 13 rebounds and 13 assists in the Thunder’s 101-69 rout of the Chicago Bulls on Saturday. Oklahoma City has had a rough start in the West, going 0-3 in their division, but 3-0 so far against the East. The teams split two meetings last season with the home team prevailing each time.

The Thunder are still working on their team chemistry with stars Paul George and Carmelo Anthony added to the roster, but it’s still Westbrook’s team to run. Westbrook is averaging 20.8 points, 12.2 assists and 9.8 rebounds while Anthony is averaging a team-best 23.8 points and George is at 19.5. Oklahoma City averages a league-best 11.5 steals per game with George accumulating a team-best 16. The Thunder still play solid defense, ranking fifth in points allowed (96.5) and fourth in FG percentage (41.9). Oklahoma City will host Boston on Friday before hitting the road for three games in five nights.

Backup center Greg Monroe will be sidelined at least two more weeks due to a left calf strain that he aggravated in Thursday’s contest against the Boston Celtics, which is a big loss for the Bucks. Monroe initially injured the calf in training camp and he was unavailable against the Hawks on Sunday, leading to Monday’s decision to shut him down to give the injury a chance to heal. John Henson is ‘next man up’ for a primary role while Monroe is sidelined and he recorded season highs of 12 points and nine rebounds against Atlanta. Shooting guard Khris Middleton posted season highs of 27 points and nine assists in the win over Atlanta.

NHL HOCKEY PREDICTIONS

These teams are pretty even in my opinion, but when you’re getting points at home in a matchup like this, you have to take it. Look for Antetokounmpo and Westbrook to have huge nights, but Milwaukee gets it done in the end. The home team has covered five of the last seven in this series.
