Sunday’s NBA Playoffs Preview and Free Picks [4/28/24]

We have a total of four Game 4s set for Sunday starting at 1:00 ET with the Sixers vs. Knicks. Minnesota is the only team that can advance to the next round with a win today. The other three series stand at 2-1, which makes it a must-win for the teams who are behind. Check out Bovada Sportsbook for the best odds and props for today’s action.

NEW YORK AT PHILADELPHIA | GAME 4

Through the first three games of this physical series, the home team has held serve. The 76ers will look to even the series and head back to Madison Square Garden all tied up. And I think that’s exactly what will happen. Philly has been incredible at home over the last month, going 8-0-1 ATS at Wells Fargo Center. Joel Embiid is coming off a 50-point Game 3 performance and the 76ers have the momentum. The Knicks could be without Mitchell Robinson, who was fouled hard by Embiid in Game 3 and drew the ire of Knicks fans and players. Look for the Sixers to cruise in this one.

Prediction: 76ers -4.5

LA CLIPPERS AT DALLAS | GAME 4

The Mavericks will look to take a 3-1 leads in a series that has easily gone way under the total through the first three games. Dallas, which ranked 20th in points allowed during the regular season, has found a defense against L.A., holding them to 90 and 93 points in the last two games. The Clippers are shooting just 25.4 percent from three-point range in the series and that won’t get it done. Even with Luka Doncic scoring just 22 points on 7-of-25 shooting in Game 3, the Mavs still won by 11. Dallas is on an 8-1 ATS run at home and I think that trend continues today.

Prediction: Mavericks -6

MILWAUKEE AT INDIANA | GAME 4

The Milwaukee Bucks are in serious trouble. They are already playing without two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo (left calf strain), but now Damian Lillard (left leg injury) is listed as ‘Doubtful’ for Sunday’s Game 4. The line ballooned to 9.5 with the Lillard news on Saturday and there’s not much scoring left for the Bucks. Indiana was lucky to survive Game 3 after controlling most of the game. Now they can focus on Kris Middleton and put their foot on the gas. I can’t see Milwaukee generating enough offense against the league’s No. 1 offense in Indiana. I’ll lay the points.

Prediction: Pacers -9.5

MINNESOTA AT PHOENIX | GAME 4

The Timberwolves are on the verge of winning a playoff series for the first time in 20 years. In order to do that, they’ll have to win another road game in Phoenix. The Suns have lost the first three in this series by an average of 18 points, and they are much better than that. Phoenix will give Minnesota all they can handle. I thought the Lakers were going to lay down in their Game 4 on Saturday, so there’s hope Phoenix can do the same. I think the Suns take this back to Minnesota for at least another game.

Prediction: Suns +2
