The New York Giants will be playing their third prime time game of the season when they host the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football. The first two games under the lights have not gone well for New York. They have been outscored by a combined 70-12 in losing to Dallas and most recently, San Francisco. The game against the 49ers came last Thursday night, so the Giants have the advantage over Seattle in terms of rest. New York is a 1.5-point underdog with a total of 47.
The Seahawks lost their first game to the Rams, but have since scored 37 points in each of the last two games in beating Detroit and Carolina. Seattle was just 3-of-13 on third downs in last week’s 37-27 win over the Panthers, but compiled 425 yards of total offense. Kenneth Walker III was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week with his two-touchdown effort. The Seahawks sit just one game behind the 49ers in the NFC West.
These teams met last October in Seattle with the Seahawks recording a 27-12 victory in a game with only 502 yards of total offense combined. Geno Smith outplayed Daniel Jones in that one, throwing for 212 yards and two touchdowns. The Seahawks are 28-12 on Monday nights, the highest winning percentage (.700) in the league. They’re 5-0 at MetLife Stadium, including their only Super Bowl title in franchise history.
Seattle played without several starters last Sunday, but still beat Carolina 37-27. Walker led a rushing attack that recorded 146 yards on the ground after struggling the first two weeks. Smith passed for 296 yards and a touchdown, while DK Metcalf played through sore ribs and had eight catches for 112 yards. The Seahawks played without starting tackles Charles Cross and Abraham Lucas and guard Phil Haynes. Lucas is the only one that has been ruled out for Monday thus far. Cornerback Tariq Woolen (chest) is back after missing last weekend’s game, while tight end Will Dissly (shoulder) was limited in practice.

The Giants played without Pro Bowl running back Saquon Barkley and two starting linemen in Week 3 and it showed. New York got behind early and didn’t even try to run the ball without Barkley, totaling 29 yards on 11 carries. He will not play on Monday. Jones has regressed after taking a big step forward last season and threw for just 137 yards with and interception against the 49ers. The defense has allowed 32.7 points a game and has yet to record a takeaway.

My official play on the Week 4 Staff Selections page is New York (PK), but I like the OVER even more. Neither defense has been able to slow down anyone through three weeks. Seattle is 30th in total defense and 31st against the pass, while the Giants are 30th in points allowed. Look for Smith and Jones to put up some big numbers tonight.
