Kansas City (3-1) at NY Mets (1-3)
When: Sunday, November 1st, 2015
Where: Citi Field, New York, NY
Time: 8:05 ET | TV: FOX
The Kansas City Royals rallied for three runs in the eighth inning after second baseman Daniel Murphy’s error and beat the New York Mets 5-3 Saturday night to take a 3-1 lead in the World Series. The Royals posted their 7th postseason comeback win this October. Now, one more victory in November will clinch their first World Series since 1985. Mets rookie Michael Conforto hit two home runs to send Citi Field into a frenzy, but the home fans went silent on Halloween night after Murphy’s error. Murphy let Eric Hosmer’s grounder go under his glove with one out in the 8th, allowing the tying run to score. Mike Moustakas and Salvador Perez followed with RBI singles. The Mets will need their best from their three aces in order to pull off a miracle.
Matt Harvey will get his second shot at the Royals after taking a no decision in Game 1. He surrendered 3 runs in six innings while only striking out two. The Royals put the ball in play nearly every at-bat against Harvey, something he’ll need to adjust to for Game 5. This will be his fourth postseason start and he has yet to hit 100 pitches. The Mets might need him to go deep tonight. Edinson Volquez, who pitched Game 1 for Kansas City only hours after his father died, has returned from the funeral and will start Game 5. Volquez pitched as well as Harvey did allowing 3 runs in 6 innings taking a no-decision. This will be his 5th start in the Playoffs, bringing his 4.45 ERA and a heavy-heart with him.
Kansas City is playing with a lot of confidence right now and the Mets starters don’t have an answer for them. I think the Royals take home the World Series tonight and I also like the Over 7 as a small play.
