I’ll take the red-hot Athletics in the series opener against the Rangers. The A’s are coming off one hell of a road trip in New York in which they went 5-1 against the Mets and Yankees. Pitching was the key on the trip with three shutouts and they were big underdogs in all six of those games. Severino has outpitched Eovaldi so far this season and allowed just two earned runs in the Athletics win over the Yankees last Wednesday. Eovaldi is coming off a nice outing against Seattle, but was rocked in his first two starts of the season. I’ll go with the hotter team and pitcher here at home.
