| Bet MLB games at Bdg Opening Line: Dodgers -133 The Los Angeles Dodgers ended their 6 game losing streak last night and pulled to within 8 games of San Diego with a 2-1 win over the Padres in Ted Lilly’s Dodger debut. Game 3 of the series takes place tonight. San Diego now only has a 1 game lead over hard charging San Francisco in the National League West. Despite the loss last night, the Padres still own the N.L.’s best road record at 29-21 and have won 6 of 10 overall. The Dodgers hold a 6-4 lead in the season series. Tough luck starter Vicente Padilla of the Dodgers gets the nod tonight. Los Angeles hasn’t given him much run support as of late. The Dodgers are only 4-9 in Padilla’s last 13 starts despite a respectable 3.47 season ERA for Vicente. He’s been even better in his last 7 games posting a terrific 1.59 ERA and 2.02 at home this year. The Padres will counter with Wade LeBlanc. He too has been hurt by lack of run support hence his 5-9 record, but nice 3.49 ERA. LeBlanc has not been as sharp as he was early in the season. He has a 4.88 ERA in his last 4 starts. The Padres are a team that just won’t go away and the Dodgers are really in a funk despite last night’s win. L.A. is hitting only .190 in their last 10 games. The Padres are 7-2 in game 3 of a series coming off a loss, but I’m still taking the Dodgers and Padilla in this one. I have a feeling the Dodger’s bats will come alive tonight.
