Michigan State and Michigan have had some terrific games in this series including last year’s overtime thriller. This year, they will be playing for the right to keep pace in the race for the Big Ten Championship. Both teams are a surprising 5-0 on the season and have done so with potent offenses. I’ll start with the rushing attack for the Spartans. They are led by Edwin Baker and Andrew Maxwell who have combined for 1,007 yards and 12 touchdowns. They also have Michigan native Kirk Cousins at quarterback who in his 3rd year is very capable of picking up the slack if the running game doesn’t get going. Michigan has the 2nd rated offense in the nation averaging 565 yards a game and that is due to one person. Denard Robinson. As long as he doesn’t get hurt, he will run away with the Heisman Trophy this year. He does it all. If you think he’s just another running QB, think again. He’s completed 70% of his passes for over 1,000 yards, 7 touchdowns, and only 1 interception. That goes along with his NCAA leading 905 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns.

This will only be Michgian State’s 2nd road game this year and they struggled a bit at Florida Atlantic last month. The Spartans are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games as road dogs and 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 Big Ten games. The favorite in this series has covered the last 4 games. It will be another high scoring affair, but I think the Wolverines pull away at the end.

Pick: Michigan -4.5
