Recent Meetings A huge battle takes play Saturday afternoon in Auburn, Alabama as the Auburn Tigers host the LSU Tigers. Both teams come in 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the very competitive SEC West. It will be Auburn’s offense against LSU’s defense in this contest. LSU ranks 3rd in the nation allowing only 242.1 yards a game and 14.4 points a game. LSU is playing only their 2nd road game in 5 weeks and their defense will be tested against Auburn’s explosive offense. They are led by QB Cameron Newton who is 5th in the NCAA with 860 yards rushing. He’s also completed 65.6% of his passes for 13 touchdowns. I’m more impressed with what Auburn has done so far this year than LSU. Last week LSU sleep-walked through McNeese State which is understandable after a big road win at Florida, but now that the Gators have lost 3 straight, how good is that win? The week before, they barely escaped a bad Tennessee team. I know defense wins championships, but you still need a little offense to win games.
