NFL Odds: Cowboys-Bucs Kickstart 2021-22 NFL Season
The defending champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers will open the 2021-22 NFL season on Thursday when they host the Dallas Cowboys at Raymond James Stadium. Game time is at 8:20 PM ET and will air on NBC. The Bucs are laying eight points with a total of 52 points.
All 22 starters from the Bucs’ championship roster are returning, and QB Tom Brady should have a better start to the season than he did a year ago, now that he’s familiar with the team. He also underwent knee surgery to repair a torn ACL that plagued him last season. The Bucs went 1-2 in the preseason, losing the games run by their backup QBs, and winning the one game with Brady under center. Tampa Bay heads into the regular season with just one starter who’s questionable for Week 1: FS Jordan Whitehead (hamstring).
The Cowboys will see the return of QB Dak Prescott, who missed most of last season after having a strong start, passing for more yards than any other QB in Weeks 2 and 4. He was a full participant in the team’s practice on Monday and is ready to get back on the field. The Cowboys went 0-4 in the preseason with their mix of backup QBs. FB Sewo Olonilu (neck) is still on the IR after missing the preseason, and RG Zack Martin was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list after testing positive for the virus.
