Georgia Tech vs Virginia Tech Preview and Free Pick – November 4th, 2010 ]]> include($base_url . “/includes/header.htm”); ?>
Recent Meetings
After starting the season 0-2 with loses to Boise State and FBS James Madison, the Virginia Tech Hokies have reeled off 6 straight wins and have covered the spread in each of those. Their competition hasn’t been stellar, but they’ve looked pretty impressive especially QB Tyrod Taylor. He’s completed 64% of his passes for 15 touchdowns and has also rushed for a team leading 527 yards. Behind him are running backs Darren Evans and David Wilson, each of whom have rushes for over 400 yards. They will meet another great rushing attack in Georgia Tech. In fact, the Yellow Jackets are #1 in the nation averaging 317 yards a game on the ground led by QB Josh Nesbitt’s 651 yards. Unfortunately for the Jackets, Nesbitt can’t throw. He’s completed a paultry 38% of his passes. Anthony Allen leads the team with 692 yards rushing. Overall, the Hokies are a bit better on defense. Both teams are coming off bye weeks and usually teams play better after a week off, but the Hokies are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 after a bye. Georgia Tech is a very good road team and have covered 13 of their last 18 away from Atlanta. They are also 5-1 ATS in their last 6 as a road dog of 10 or more points. The Yellow Jackets defense is key in this one. They can’t fall too far behind early, because they simply don’t have the passing game to catch up. I think they will control the ball and keep this one close. Pick: Georgia Tech +13 CLICK HERE TO BET THE GEORGIA TECH YELLOW JACKETS OR Be sure to check out our other Free College Football Picks!
