The TBS Sunday afternoon game has a terrific pitching matchup from the Nation’s Capital this week as the Los Angeles Dodgers look for a three-game sweep of the Washington Nationals. Stephen Strasburg is tied for the major league lead in wins (13) and will try and avoid his team’s fourth straight setback when he takes the mound against 9-1 Walker Buehler. The Dodgers improved to 29-23 away from home with Saturday’s 9-3 win thanks to six RBI from newly-tabbed primary catcher Will Smith, who homered and doubled twice, was just recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City to replace the demoted Austin Barnes. Washington has cooled off since a 23-8 run that got them to within 5.5 games of the Atlanta Braves, but they still own the second wild card in the National League. Adam Eaton extended his hitting streak to six games with a triple, while Yan Gomes is 5-for-10 with two homers and three RBI in his last three contests. It doesn’t get any easier for the Nationals after Sunday, as the Braves come to town for three games starting Monday night.

He has already seen the Nationals once this season back at Dodger Stadium and shut them out for seven innings in the 5-2 victory on May 11th.

Strasburg won his sixth consecutive start on Tuesday by shutting out the Colorado Rockies over six innings, while striking out eight to raise his season total to 159 in 133.2 innings. He has three scoreless outings in his last four turns and 35 strikeouts in that span covering 24.2 innings. Strasburg, who lost May 12th at the Dodgers, is 2-5 lifetime against them with a 2.67 ERA.
