The Arizona Diamondbacks may have more home runs through the first two games of the NLDS, but it’s the Los Angeles Dodgers who are in full control and can sweep their way to the NLCS with a victory in Phoenix on Monday night. The D’Backs have bashed six homers in the series to the Dodgers one, but L.A. has racked up 17 runs and 24 hits in two easy wins as it looks like the squad that led the majors with 104 regular-season victories. The Diamondbacks will look to stave-off elimination behind ace Zack Greinke, the right-hander who won 51 games in three seasons with the Dodgers before signing with Arizona after the 2015 campaign. Yasiel Puig has been one of the hitting stars by going 5-for-9 with four RBIs as the Dodgers appear to have put aside their regular-season struggles (8-11) against Arizona. Los Angeles rookie 1B Cody Bellinger is only 1-for-10 with six strikeouts in the series and Arizona star slugger Paul Goldschmidt is just 1-for-7 – the hit being a two-run blast in Game 2.
Pitchers: Dodgers – Yu Darvish (10-12, 3.86 ERA) | Diamondbacks – Zack Greinke (playoffs: 0-0, 9.82)
Yu Darvish, who was acquired over the summer from the Texas Rangers for these particular games, will get the nod on Monday. The Japan native finished the season by going 2-0 in his last three outings, allowing just one earned run in 19.1 innings during the stretch. Darvish has a 5.40 ERA while losing both his career postseason starts for Texas. He pitched at Arizona in his second start with L.A. back in August and surrendered two runs in five innings before his pitch count reached 106, and struck out 10.
Greinke has not been at his best lately, allowing 14 runs in his last three starts covering 11.2 innings, and lasted just 3.2 in the Wild Card game against the Colorado Rockies. Greinke is 3-3 with a 3.92 ERA in 10 career postseason outings with two of the wins coming during his six postseason starts for the Dodgers.

I like the Dodgers to win this series, but not tonight. I think Greinke steps up his game and the D’Backs, who are much better at home, will hit Darvish hard and avoid elimination for one more day.
