San Diego (2-3) at Green Bay (5-0)
When: Sunday, October 18th 2015
Where: Lambeau Field, Green Bay, WI
Time: 4:25 ET
TV: CBS Radio: XM 227
The San Diego Chargers come into Lambeau field reeling from their Monday Night heartbreaker at the hands of the Steelers. Le’Veon Bell scored a touchdown as time expired for the 24-20 Pittsburgh victory, dropping the Chargers to 2-3. Philip Rivers threw for 365 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Steelers and has thrown for an NFL best 1,613 yards this season. The Chargers boast the third best offense in football averaging 410 yards a game. Tight End Antonio Gates hauled in his 100th and 101st career touchdowns last week in his first game back from a 4-game suspension for performance-enhancing drugs. Rookie Melvin Gordon leads the 25th best rushing attack with only 270 yards in five games. Wide receiver Keenan Allen is averaging just shy of 8 catches a game and has scored three of Rivers’ ten touchdowns. The Chargers are pretty good against the pass ranking 9th and they’ll need to be at their best against Aaron Rodgers and company.

Rodgers uncharacteristically turned the ball over three times last week with two interceptions and a fumble, but the Packers still managed to beat the Rams 24-10. The defense was the key intercepting St. Louis four times including a pick-six by Quinten Rollins. The Packers are 2nd in the NFL with 8 interceptions and second with 20 sacks. The only thing their defense isn’t good at is stopping the run. They are 28th in the league allowing 130 rushing yards a game. James Jones has been Rodgers’ favorite target now that Jordy Nelson is out for the year. Jones caught his fifth touchdown last week in the win over the Rams. Running back Eddie Lacy, who has also been hobbled by an ailing ankle this season, rushed just 13 times for 27 yards last week, but is averaging 4.1 yards a carry on the season.
The Packers are a perfect 5-0 against the spread this year, while the Chargers are 1-4. If this season is anything, its unpredictable. 10.5 points is a little too much for me to lay considering the Chargers have the 3rd best offense in the NFL. I can smell a back-door cover easily.
