One of the better matchups this weekend during the Wild Card round takes place at AT&T Stadium as the No. 3 Dallas Cowboys host the No. 6 San Francisco 49ers. The Cowboys are slight field goal favorites on the odds board with a total set at 50.5 as of Tuesday morning. Kick-off from Arlington is at 4:30 PM ET on CBS.
The Cowboys (12-5 SU, 13-4 ATS) already had secured the NFC East crown heading into Week 18, but wanted to improve their seeding. Coach Mike McCarthy played his starters and Dallas destroyed the Philadelphia Eagles 51-26 as 6.5-point road favorites, avoiding any serious injuries in the process. San Francisco (10-7 SU, 9-8 ATS) finished their season the next day and clinched a playoff berth with a 27-24 overtime comeback win at the Los Angeles Rams as 3.5-point underdogs.
The big question going into Week 18 was whether Niners QB Jimmy Garoppolo would return from a thumb injury. He did return and was shaky in the first half as L.A. built a 17-0 lead, but Garoppolo engineered the game-tying touchdown drive in the final 2:29. Kicker Robbie Gould nailed the go-ahead field goal in overtime before CB Ambry Thomas sealed it with an interception.
