The San Francisco 49ers started the season off with an impressive 20-3 win over the Vikings, but have since been crushed in every game since falling to Pittsburgh, Arizona, and Green Bay by a combined 107-28. Running back Carlos Hyde enjoyed a great opening night by rushing for 168 yards, but has only 114 in his last three games. It will be tough to run on a stingy Giants rush defense tonight. Quarterback Colin Kaepernick has only thrown 2 touchdowns to 5 interceptions so far this season and his QB rating is an abysmal 67.7. The defense isn’t much better ranking 29th in points allowed and 23rd overall. This could be a long year for the 49ers as their next 6 games include Seattle twice, Atlanta, Arizona, Baltimore, and St. Louis. San Francisco LB Ahmad Brooks will miss Sunday’s game after his 40-year-old sister died from lupus on Wednesday.

The Giants suffered two heart-breaking losses to open the season, but have since reeled off two straight convincing wins over Washington and Buffalo. Eli Manning has thrown 7 touchdown passes in the last three weeks, including 3 of them in a 24-10 victory over Buffalo last Sunday. While Manning has won 5 of his 7 career starts against San Francisco, he was intercepted five times in the 49ers’ 16-10 victory last season. While Odell Beckham Jr. received plenty of fanfare in the offseason, Rueben Randle has scored a touchdown in each of his last two games. Randle also enjoyed a dominant effort in last year’s game against San Francisco, reeling in a team-high seven catches for 112 yards while Beckham added 6 for 93 yards. Defensively, the Giants have proven hard to run on. They’re ranked number 1 in rush defense allowing only 69.8 yards a game.
San Francisco is a bad team and I don’t see them all of the sudden getting good. The Giants should score early and often and put them away by the third quarter. I really like Manning, Randle, and Beckham on this week’s Fantasy Football roster.
