Buffalo Bills @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Sun, 1pm, CBS
Line: Steelers by 3
I get that the Bills are on their 9th-string QB and are playing at Heinz Field, but I just can’t get behind the Steelers. Their offensive line against Buffalo’s tremendous front seven is a really bad matchup for Big Ben.
Pick: Buffalo 23, Pittsburgh 17

Cincinnati Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens
Sun, 1pm, CBS

Detroit Lions @ Chicago Bears
Sun, 1pm, FOX
Line: Lions by 2.5
Sure, Josh McCown played well on Monday in Green Bay, but even with Jay Cutler back under center I still think it’s just asking a bit too much for Chicago to win a shootout against Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson. This Bears defense can’t carry the day against that kind of firepower.
Pick: Detroit 31, Chicago 24

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Tennessee Titans
Sun, 1pm, CBS
Line: Titans by 11.5
I waited and waited and waited to make this pick – and I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but I think the Jaguars cover this spread. Not win, no no, but cover.
Pick: Tennessee 20, Jacksonville 10

Oakland Raiders @ New York Giants
Sun, 1pm, CBS

Philadelphia Eagles @ Green Bay Packers
Sun, 1pm, FOX

St. Louis Rams @ Indianapolis Colts
Sun, 1pm, FOX
Line: Colts by 9.5
Talk about playing to the level of the competition. Over the last four games, Indy has shut down the perceived “best” team in each league – Denver and Seattle – while also losing to San Diego and needing a huge fourth quarter rally to beat Houston. The key for each game? Location. Denver and Seattle had to visit Indianapolis, while the Colts were on the road against the Chargers and Texans. The conclusion? Colts win big here.
Pick: Indianapolis 37, St. Louis 13

Seattle Seahawks @ Atlanta Falcons
Sun, 1pm, FOX

Carolina Panthers @ San Francisco 49’ers
Sun, 4:05pm, FOX
Line: 49’ers by 6
I like the surge the Panthers have been on recently, and I think it continues enough that I’m actually going to take the points on the road here. I’ll probably regret this decision as the Niners are kneeling for a double-digit victory, but I just have a feeling and I’m going with it.
Pick: San Francisco 24, Carolina 20

Denver Broncos @ San Diego Chargers
Sun, 4:25pm, CBS
Line: Broncos by 7
This game will be the ultimate indication of the actual legitimacy of the Chargers playoff hopes. They’re probably not winning at Mile High or Arrowhead, so 4-4 just became 4-6, and they still have home games against Cincinnati and Kansas City, too. If they want to ensure they stay in the race, this is a virtual must-win… and let’s just say I like the playoff chances of the Jets, Titans, and Dolphins better for that sixth seed in the AFC.
Pick: Denver 41, San Diego 31

Houston Texans @ Arizona Cardinals
Sun, 4:25pm, CBS
Line: Cardinals by 2.5
Gary Kubiak’s health should be the first thing on everyone’s mind this week, which means this game will almost certainly be a blowout one way or another. Since it’s on the road, I think Arizona dominate a Houston team whose mind might understandably be elsewhere.
Pick: Arizona 34, Houston 16

Dallas Cowboys @ New Orleans Saints
Sun, 8:30pm, NBC

Miami Dolphins @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Mon, 8:30pm, ESPN
Line: Dolphins by 2.5
I was fully prepared to pick against Tampa in every single game for the rest of the season… until they get the dysfunctional Dolphins at home the week following the gigantic media crunch that is Richie Incognito and Jonathan Martin. Ladies and gentlemen, the Jacksonville Jaguars are on the clock!
Pick: Tampa Bay 17, Miami 16

Straight-Up: 85-49
Against Spread: 65-67-2
