The news, rankings and statistics are changing week on week as we’re so early on in the season, but there are plenty of standouts for us to show you so far. Here, we’re breaking down the strongest offensive players and the strongest defensive players to help you decide where you should put your money when you place your bets. Read on to learn more!
Offensive Leaders
Josh Allen – Passing 1980 yds
Josh Allen plays for Buffalo Bills in the number 17 shirt as a Quarterback. He was drafted in 2018 and at the age of 26 has been a menace to teams in the NFL already. With 1980 yards covered and 17 touchdowns, he’s certainly one to keep an eye on this year.
Nick Chubb – Rushing 649 yds
Nick Chubb is a running back for the Cleveland Browns. He’s the king of rushing this season so far and has covered 648 yards. He’s ended up finding a lot of space that others have missed in order to help his team dominate against the Steelers in September.
Tyreek Hill – Receiving 701 yds
Tyreek Hill is a wide receiver and is currently rated number one for his receiving – 701 yds. He’s currently playing for the Miami Dolphins and even though his team have lost the last 3 he continues to show his skills to help the team push forward.
Defensive Leaders
Zaire Franklin – Tackles – Tot. 66
Zaire Franklin is a linebacker for the Indianapolis Colts. It’s his 5th season this season and he’s already top of the table stats-wise for tackles with a total of 66 already this season.
Alex Highsmith – Sacks 6.5
Alex Highsmith is a linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers having been drafted in 2020 Round 3. At the age of 25, he is in the top spot this season already for the highest number of sacks further strengthening the defense of the team.
Jordan Poyer & Tariq Woolen – Interceptions 4 each
Jordan Poyer & Tariq Woolen are currently drawn at 4 interceptions each this season so far. Jordan Poyer is the defensive back and Buffalo Bills and was drafted way back in 2013. Tariq Woolen is new to the NFL having been drafted in 2022 Rd 5, Pk 153. Tariq plays for the Seattle Seahawks as a Cornerback.
As you can see, there are stand-outs for everything including passing, rushing, receiving, tackles, sacks and interceptions – and no player has been the best at a few of these!
