For multi-state draw games, there’s a subscription feature on iPLAY, the West Virginia Lottery’s official online platform, that removes the need to log in and buy a ticket every time you want to enter. It’s called Jackpot Threshold Auto-Renewal. You set a jackpot size threshold on your account, and once the jackpot on a chosen game reaches that amount, iPLAY automatically purchases an entry for you. If you play the lottery in West Virginia online, this feature is available in your account settings.
Which games it works on
Jackpot Threshold Auto-Renewal is available on three games: POWERBALL®, MEGA MILLIONS®, and Lotto America®. These are the multi-state draw games with progressive jackpots that grow between draws until a qualifying entry matches the winning numbers.
The feature is not available on WVL’s daily draw games such as Daily 3, Daily 4, Cash25, or Millionaire for Life™. Those games have fixed prize structures rather than accumulating jackpots, so the threshold mechanic does not apply to them.
How to set it up
To use Jackpot Threshold Auto-Renewal, log in to your iPLAY account and navigate to the draw game you want to subscribe to. Select the Auto-Renewal option, set the jackpot threshold that will trigger a purchase, and confirm your payment details. Your account wallet needs to have sufficient funds available at the point the threshold is triggered. If the balance is insufficient when a purchase is due, the automatic entry may not process.
Full terms and conditions for the feature are on the WVL website.
Adjusting or cancelling
You can raise, lower, or remove your threshold at any time through your iPLAY account settings. You do not need to contact customer support to make changes. This puts the subscription fully under your control, and you can pause or cancel it whenever you choose.
Getting started on iPLAY
If you do not yet have an account, registration requires you to be 18 or older and physically located in West Virginia. You will need to verify your identity and add an accepted payment method to your wallet. Android users download the WVL app from the WVL website directly. iPhone users can find it on the App Store.
Once your account is set up, Jackpot Threshold Auto-Renewal is available alongside other subscription features, including multi-draw entries, which let you buy into several consecutive draws for a single game in one step.
Player-control tools and responsible gaming
iPLAY includes deposit limits as a separate player-control feature. You set a maximum on how much you deposit over a given period, and it operates independently of any auto-renewal subscriptions. Both tools are in the account settings section.
For additional guidance, WVL’s Play Responsibly page covers the full range of options available, including self-exclusion. The responsible gaming helpline is 1-800-GAMBLER.
