In a world dominated by advances in AI, all areas of business are affected, including the iGaming industry.
As a professional with 10+ years of experience writing for Silentbet.com, I can safely say that the scene is not only changing. It’s becoming unrecognizable fast.
AI is fundamentally rewriting the rules for sportsbooks and online casinos, with new agents being implemented daily.
Almost every layer of the online gambling experience has already incorporated AI. Most are happening behind the scenes, while others are quite noticeable for anyone using gambling platforms regularly.
Personalization & Smarter Gambling Experience
In my opinion, one of the biggest changes AI brings is personalization.
You have no idea how much data online casinos and bookmakers have access to. And with AI they can process it all in a matter of seconds.
The huge amount of data easily translates into behavioral patterns of players.
Casinos then use these AI insights to create a more relevant experience to the individual user.
In practice, this means personalized game recommendations, tailored promo campaigns, and targeted, customized marketing content.
Such insights are a converting point for operators, making navigating an online casino a much less random process and more of a personal journey of discovery.
Still, I see a potential issue with the unlimited use of AI in player personalization. There is a line that should not be crossed.
The gambling industry is already heavily regulated. So adding AI as a tool solely to push players to gamble more aggressively is NOT the way to go.
Instead, AI has an unlimited potential to make gambling safer and more transparent for end users. And that is the only way to go from a moral standpoint, in my opinion.
Even the UK Gambling Commission now recognizes AI as an important part of the future of gambling regulation and consumer protection. Learn more about the UK Gambling Commission’s approach to AI to get a better understanding of the topic.
Sports Betting Is Changing Because Of AI Too
Here is another area where Artificial Intelligence is making a significant impact.
Especially when it comes to predictions. AI-powered systems can analyze an enormous amount of data in milliseconds. These include anything from historical results, players’ stats, team performance, and H2Hs.
What does this mean for bookmakers? Odds can be set more efficiently plus market movements can be identified in seconds.
But AI is also changing content creation.
And I, as someone who has spent years writing gambling content, find this particularly interesting.
Instead of being daunted by AI tools that can create articles in seconds, I try to use the robots for something else.
Actually, AI can generate basic match previews, summarise statistics and process data at a speed I simply could not.
This saves me time as a writer. It also makes me more relevant.
So the truth remains that even with AI…
The Human Factor Still Matters & It’s Here To Stay
Okay, so here is the bottom line.
AI is excellent when it comes at processing information.
But! It is much less reliable for understanding context. It offers no real experience. And lacks credibility overall.
There is a huge difference between producing a generic casino review with little to no substance using AI and actually testing the platform and writing from personal experience.
Knowing the details comes from human tests. Emotions get involved. And this will genuinely resonate with other players.
So, do I thing experiences iGaming writers still matter? Yes!
Absolutely. We still have an important role in a new gambling industry that is now being reshaped by AI.
And even though I may use AI as a tool myself, I would never allow it to replace first-hand experience.
So maybe this is the biggest change AI is bringing to the table: expectations on what humans are expected to contribute to the iGaming industry.
And the winners in the end of it all will not necessarily be the one who implement AI technology the most.
No.
They will be the ones who understand where the true value of AI lies. And it is intermittent with human expertise every step of the way.
