First off, can somebody please tell me why the Atlanta Falcons are favored on the road no less over the Steelers in their home opener?…I don’t get it?..The Betting public is all over the Falcons with the concensus showing 62% are on the Falcons. I dont know what theyre thinking because theyre going to be pretty upset after the steelers win outright and they realize they got suckered (first week of the season no less) on an Atlanta Falcon road (TRAP GAME)

I think people are getting a little ahead of themselves here just because Big Ben is out and the Steelers decided to start rookie QB Dennis Dixon.  Granted , I would have felt a little more comfortable with them starting a veteran such as qb Byron Leftwich (out with knee injury) or even veteran qb Charlie Batch but either way, this is a trap play for the Falcons who in the past two years combined since QB Matt Ryan has been at the helm..yes , they have improved bigtime, but that doesn’t change the fact that they are 7-9 on road last two years …3-5 (2009) and 4-4 (3008), while the Steelers conversely have dominated at home with a 12-4 record past two seasons.   The gameplan is pretty simple for Pittsburgh, they have a good enough coaching staff, solid running game and very good defense, add in the fact that Heinz Field will erupt for the opener, and to boot, were getting points? Are you kidding?   They aren’t going to ask qb dennis Dixon to do much except manage the game, limiting him to no more than about 15 pass attempts while they pound the rock with RB Rashard Mendenhall and rely on their defense, who by the way has a guy named..TROY POLAMALA in the secondary..Good Luck Matt Ryan…lets not forget that WR Heinz Ward is still playing at a high level and also welcoming back WR Antwaan Randel El who’s happy to be back home with the team he won a super bowl with just 5 yrs ago, before wasting his time last year with the Redskins.   I’m confident that the Steelers win this game outright if played in the same situation at least 7 out of 10 ten times..with that being said, ill take my chances with the better team , at home, OPENING DAY , and GETTING POINTS   TAKE THE STEELERS!

Pick: Steelers +1.5
