Two teams with losing streaks will take to the field Monday night, as the Philadelphia Eagles visit the Seattle Seahawks to conclude Week 15 action. The home team Seahawks bring a four-game losing streak into this contest, as the defense has given up a ton of points. Seattle has surrendered an average of 33 points a game in their last three losses to the Cowboys and 49ers twice. Entering Sunday’s action, the Seahawks were a half-game behind the final playoff spot – tied with four other teams.

The Eagles have lost back-to-back games in the midst of a brutal part of their schedule, but have other concerns now. On Sunday morning, quarterback Jalen Hurts was added to the injury report with an illness and is flying to Seattle separate from his teammates. The line for this game was Philly -4 for most of the week, but sits at -3 as of Sunday afternoon with a total of 45. The Eagles’ last two losses have come against the same teams Seattle just played – San Francisco and Dallas.

The Seahawks have won seven meetings in a row with the last three coming in Philadelphia including a playoff game on Jan. 5, 2020. Seattle is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings dating back to 2005 and the Under has cashed in each of the last six. The road team is 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meetings. This is also the first game to be flexed into Monday night, knocking out the Chiefs vs. Patriots.

The Eagles’ schedule gauntlet included victories over Kansas City and Buffalo, then losses to the 49ers and Cowboys, allowing Dallas to gain first place in the NFC East via tiebreakers. The remaining schedule gets a little easier with the Seahawks, Cardinals and Giants twice. Those teams have a combined record of 14-25. With the exception of Hurts, the Eagles are relatively healthy, with only cornerback Darius Slay (knee), linebacker Zach Cunningham (knee) and offensive lineman Cameron Jurgens (pectoral) missing practice this week. Slay has been ruled out after undergoing surgery this week.

The Seahawks have quarterback questions also after Drew Lock started in place of Geno Smith (groin) in last week’s 28-16 loss at San Francisco. Smith returned to practice this week in a limited capacity and hopes to play Monday. The current four-game losing streak is the longest for the Seahawks since Pete Carroll took over as coach in 2010. The defense was a mess in last week’s loss, allowing the 49ers to record 527 total yards. Safety Jamal Adams (knee), linebackers Jordyn Brooks (ankle) and Nick Bellore (knee) and cornerback Devon Witherspoon (hip) have missed practice time.

I have this marked down as Eagles -3.5 and we also have them in the Westgate SuperContest. Obviously with the news on Sunday that Hurts may not play makes this a tough call. I still expect Hurts to play and for the Eagles to bounce back strong after getting beat up in Dallas and losing the division lead. The Eagles defense will be able to slow down either Smith or Lock for Seattle.
