Dodgers vs Brewers NLCS Preview & Free Pick | Prediction [Game 7]

LA Dodgers (3-3) at Milwaukee (3-3)
When: Saturday, October 20th 2018
Where: Miller Park,
Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Time: 8:09 ET | TV: FS1
Opening Odds: Los Angeles -120/8

The Miller Park faithful in Milwaukee needed to bring their Brewers back to life if they wanted any chance of playing in their first World Series since 1982 and after a leadoff home run by Los Angeles’ David Freese, the team, nor the crowd, gave up. Milwaukee used a four-run bottom of the first inning to seize momentum in Game 6 and in this series as we prepare for a Game 7 of the NLCS on Saturday night. The Brewers finished with an NL-best 51-30 record at home during the regular season and have won four of five at Miller Park in the playoffs after Friday’s 7-2 victory. The easy win enabled Milwaukee to rest top reliever Josh Hader for as much work as he can handle in Game 7. The Brewers are set up with their top starting pitcher Jhoulys Chacin on the hill, while the Dodgers will go with talented rookie Walker Buehler, who could be followed closely by three-time Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw. Los Angeles is seeking their first back-to-back World Series appearances since 1977 and 1978, but managed just four hits after Freese’s homer in the first. Chris Taylor recorded one of the five hits by the Dodgers in Game 6 and is 7-for-20 in the series, but Manny Machado was 0-for-4 with two strikeouts on Saturday.

Pitchers: Dodgers – Walker Buehler (0-1, 6.75 ERA) | Brewers – Jhoulys Chacin (2-0, 0.00)

Buehler suffered the loss in Game 3 of this series and is looking for his first ever postseason victory after giving up four runs on six hits and a walk while striking out eight over seven innings Monday. The rookie posted a 1.58 ERA over his last 11 starts of the regular season, but has allowed nine runs over 12 innings in two playoff starts. Buehler had a 3.45 ERA on the road as opposed to a 1.93 mark at home during the regular season.

Chacin has been terrific in his two starts, allowing six hits and five walks across 10.1 scoreless innings while recording a pair of wins and has the benefit of Hader behind him. Chacin beat Buehler in Game 3 at Dodger Stadium as he recorded six strikeouts in 5.1 innings. He recorded a 3.79 ERA at home in the regular season.

I don’t see why the Dodgers are favored in this game. Milwaukee has all the advantages going for them right now: Momentum, home field, pitching matchup, bullpen. I think we’re going to see the Brewers in Fenway Park next week.

Pick: Brewers +110
