Dallas Cowboys vs NY Giants Preview and Free Pick

Dallas (2-3) at NY Giants (3-3)
When: Sunday, October 25th 2015
Where: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ
Time: 4:25 ET | TV: FOX

The Dallas Cowboys will turn to their third quarterback in six weeks as they try and end a three-game losing skid that started when Tony Romo broke his collarbone last month. Matt Cassel will get the start over Brandon Weeden who was ineffective in his three games. Cassel started three games last year for Minnesota and threw 3 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. Dallas is coming off a bye so he should be prepared to face one of the worst defenses in football, because next week he gets one of the best in Seattle. Romo’s favorite target Jason Witten, has not caught a touchdown since Week 1 against the Giants and the Cowboys only have two touchdowns from their wide receivers, both from Terrance Williams. The Dallas running game could use a spark as Josph Randle only has 289 yards in five games this season, but does have four scores. Dallas could also use a boost from their defense who have surrendered 26.2 points a game this season and have given up 95 points in their last three.

The Giants had won three games in a row before being blasted by Philadelphia on Monday night 27-7. Eli Manning was intercepted twice in that game and has been picked off four times in the last three games, but has thrown 9 touchdowns against only 1 interception in his last four home games versus the Cowboys. Wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. has fought through hamstring issues to catch a touchdown in four of his last five games, but was limited to just 61 yards on Monday. Despite Manning’s worst game of the season last week, he’s still having an excellent year. He’s completing 66% of his passes for 1,606 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions. The Giants defense, although good against the run, has been horrible against the pass. They are allowing 298.5 yards a game through the air which is 31st in the league.

I really like the Giants in this spot and its one of my top 5 picks. Dallas is really a mess right now and I expect the Giants to bounce back strong from their defeat last week. I’m calling for a blowout.

Pick: Giants -3.5
