The first playoff game of Wild Card weekend has the 7-8-1 Carolina Panthers hosting the 11-5 Arizona Cardinals. The Panthers might have a losing record, but they did win their last 4 games to win the NFC South. Arizona struggled down the stretch, losing 4 of their last 6 games mainly due to the fact that they are on their 3rd string quarterback in Ryan Lindley. Cam Newton is getting hot for Carolina. In his last 3 games, he’s thrown 5 touchdowns to only 1 interception.
I belive Arizona is in trouble today. These teams are going in opposite directions and the Panthers, despite a losing record, have the home field advantage. This game opened at Carolina -4 and has moved all the way up to -6.5 despite the public being relatively split on the game. That tells me the wise guys are going with Carolina and I have to agree with them. I can see the Panthers winning easily despite the Cardinals tough defense.
PICK: Panthers -6.5
