The Blue Jays and Angels being a big 3-game series tonight in Anaheim as David Price goes up against Hector Santiago. The Jays have cooled off a bit since the Yankees snapped their 11-game winning streak last week. They have lost 3 of their last 5 including a 7-4 loss in Philadelphia the other day. The Jays got a day off yesterday to prepare for the Angels. Anaheim fell last night 8-2 to the White Sox, but still managed to take 3 of 4 from Chicago and are only 2.5 games behind the Astros in the American League West. The Blue Jays gained a half a game on the Yankees last night by virtue of New York’s loss to Cleveland. Price and Santiago are the teams aces, so tonight’s matchup should be a good one.
We’re going to look a little past the pitchers tonight to predict a winner. It really comes down to one stat for me. The Angels are simply awful against lefties (.228 avg), while the Blue Jays smoke lefties (.277). Josh Donaldson and Jose Bautista feed off southpaws.
Pick: Blue Jays -1.5 +110
