Buffalo Bills vs Miami Dolphins Preview and Free Pick

Buffalo (1-1) at Miami (1-1)
When: Sunday, September 27th 2015
Where: Sun Life Stadium, Miami Gardens, FL
Time: 4:25 ET
TV: CBS Radio: XM 82

The Buffalo bills, who looked so good in Week 1 against the Colts, were shredded by the Tom Brady and the Patriots last week 40-32. Rex Ryan’s defense has been spectacular against the run so far allowing only 60 yards rushing a game, but the pass defense is another story. They are dead last allowing 345 yards a game through the air. Now, they have played Brady and Andrew Luck, but the secondary needs to improve soon. They face Ryan Tannehill this week. Coach Ryan seems to be comfortable with QB Tyrod Taylor. So much so that he traded away his backup Matt Cassel to Dallas this week. Taylor did throw 3 touchdowns against the Patriots, but also 3 interceptions. His QB rating is a respectable 103.9. Running back LeSean McCoy should have a good day against the Dolphins 27th ranked run defense. McCoy is averaging 4.1 yards a carry through two games.

Miami has got nothing out of Ndamukong Suh so far. He has just three tackles and zero sacks after signing a six-year, $114 million deal in March. “It’s still not quite where I want it to be,” Suh told ESPN.com while deflecting a recent report of “freelancing” toward coach Joe Philbin’s denial on Monday. Suh does have a history of this behavior, but if he came to Miami to win a Super Bowl, he better start playing like it. The Miami running game is a bit of a mess right now also. Lamar Miller gained just 14 yards on 10 carries last week and his 67 yards this season is well off the pace of the career-high 1,099 he amassed in 2014. Now he must go up against the best rush defense in the league. I’m sure Tannehill will be asked to throw 50 times today against a poor Bills secondary. He has 585 yards passing through two games with 3 touchdowns and no interceptions. His QB rating of 101.7 is on pass for a career best.

This is going to all about Buffalo’s running game against Miami’s passing attack. I think the Dolphins can slow the Bills running game down tough, but I don’t think the Bills can stop Tannehill and company. I’ll take the home team here.

Pick: Dolphins -3
